Meet the Artist
If you've visited Strathpine Centre recently, you may have noticed a vibrant new artwork bringing colour and personality to our walls next to Big W.
As part of our Centre upgrades, we wanted to bring a little extra colour and joy to our construction walls. So, we invited local artist Mel Brady to create something truly special... and she absolutely nailed the brief.
The artwork celebrates the unique character of Strathpine Centre and the community that brings it to life every day.
Inspired by Strathpine
Mel drew inspiration from the Centre's architecture, history and the people who use it, creating a joyful patchwork of colour and pattern. Look closely and you'll spot references to our iconic curved walkways including previous ramp, the Centre's pink terrazzo flooring, local flora and the winding river that reflects the natural beauty of the Moreton Bay region.
"As a long-term resident of the City of Moreton Bay, it is an honour and a delight to bring colour and fun to this space. I hope it sparks happiness and conversation for everyone who visits Strathpine Centre."
– Mel Brady
